Diva's Challenge #212 UMT - Fanz and other tiles

With the Augusta Masters Golf coming up on Thursday I realised that it is two years since I discovered a YouTube video of Maria drawing Mooka and I was hooked.  The golf finishes very late here in the UK and I find it very soporific so to keep awake I was watching all sorts of art videos mostly on printmaking at the time.  I guess this year I will be tangling!!

I thought I would review my various notebooks - A6, A4, black ones, Kraft paper ones and loads of tiles that I have cut from various types of paper.  It is amazing how many different drawings there are in two years and how they have changed over time.  I was also weighing up how much I like them and some are definitely more pleasing than others.  I am unsure whether it is the tangles themselves, the string to set them off or one's mood of the moment.  I am sure many of you have some views on this as well.

Well this is an example.  I am not too sure about the tile for Fanz even though I continued with this week's love affair with Flux and used a circle to start which is also a favorite.

I was definitley enjoying the prospect of spring over Easter so here is a spring posy

Then inspired by Shelley Beach (click here to see it) and her amazing Opus tile with a double circle string, I drew this on a 5 inch tile.

Thanks for passing by.  Thanks for all your lovely comments last week - they all made me smile.

  4. These are all really pleasing. I found it difficult to use Fanz in a round shape, so I'm impressed by your success with that and the other two are also simply lovely.

    1. Thanks Suzanne. Fanz was definitely a tricky tangle. I think your Fanz were brilliant. Hope you enjoyed your CZT weekend. Your description of Masada was lovely.

  6. I do like your flux pieces, your tangle work is exquisite, the second my favorite, because I am a green fanatic (I think) because actually they are all equally creative.

    1. Thank you Lynne. I'm glad you like the green. I'm very fond of lime green but cautious of other greens. In my acrylic paints I only have green gold!
