Diva #181 - From the water

We went for Dave's check up with the consultant yesterday and the retina is well attached now.  He has to go again in a fortnight so hopefully he will be given the all clear.

This is a slightly different take on the water theme.  The summer project for my silver jewellery class is take something from the natural world to make a wax carving for the lost wax process of casting.  So I had finally decided on shells.  I will most likely base the carving on mussel shells but I had some lovely oyster shells and decided to make some rubbings using graphite pencil with different papers to get the feel for the texture of the shells.

Then lo and behold this weeks challenge is water so I photocopied the rubbings and tangled them.    So most of the shading is from the rubbings which makes them rather different this week.  I like to experiment and see how things turn out good or bad.   I had to take photos of one because the scan turned out really poor.

Thanks for you lovely comments last week.  I'm now going to have a look at all the others  - you can click here to view the other entries for this week on the Diva's website.

Have a lovely week and thanks for passing by.
