Diva's Challenge #173 - Comfort tangle

This was a lovely challenge this week.  I really needed a comfort tangle as we have had a difficult decision to make this week in our business.

Tipple is definitely my comfort tangle and such a good way to relax and chill out!  I also love flux and dragonair.

Anyway the sun shone, the garden is colorful and next week is a new week!

I have lots of different watercolour pencils and I don't very often use water for the shading but it made a lovely change

This last one is 18cm square and it is all in pencil from 2H to 6B and another way of varying the shading.

I did play around with black paper and pastels as well - fun but not very exciting.  It all helped to take my mind of work.  I'm sure my sketch book will be filled with more comfort tangles in the future.

Thanks for passing by.  I will now try to catch up with all your posts.

  1. Glad that tangling helped you to relax. These are all very beautiful and so different that I can't pick a favorite.

  2. Yes, they are all beautiful - I however am more drawn to the first two. In fact, the first one is my favorite. I just love it. Good luck with that decision.

    1. Thank you. I recommend trying the pencil only. It was really interesting and required careful thought to get the balance. It was great fun

  5. Val, The Redux, Revisit, Remix challenge is awesome. I really like originality of the pencil shading for the Tipple Tile! Great Job, Sharla Hicks

    1. Thanks Sharla. It was a lovely challenge and the pencil only was really interesting to do as the variations are quite subtle and some had to be worked more than others. I think I will explore pencil only again. Thanks again for the challenge - it will run and run!
