Earth (Amanda) Day - Diva's Challenge #164 and a little Rixty!

Hope you have had a good day celebrating Earth Day.  Here the garden, the greenhouse and the bluebells in the woods with the new pale green leaves just remind us of the of the wonderful Spring renewal each year.  For those like Laura who have had yet more snow then that joy is still to come.

I had mono-printed some watercolour paper and I thought it would be a good base for a few earth like circles and then I let the tangles take over!

We were away in St Ives in Cornwall last week.  There has always been a thriving art community there and especially so from from the 1930''s onwards with Peter Lanyon, Ben Nicholson, Barbara Hepworth and many others.  It is true that the light is really special and this draws many artists today to work in St Ives.

We went to St Michael's Mount and in the Castle there were some interesting stone and wood carvings.  I think one is going to make an ok tangle but I haven't had chance to draw the step outs yet.  I've a busy week now at work so it might have to wait!

I did manage to draw a little Rixty for last weeks challenge but didn't manage to post it whilst away.

Have a good week and thanks for passing by.

    1. Thank you. I was looking though the papers I had printed the other week and this one really fitted the challenge. I had previously no idea how to tangle it!

  3. Both tiles are so different and yet so beautiful. My daughter has lived in UK for many years and I loved to see the bluebells each year.

    1. Thanks Annemarie. I did intend to post a phot I took on Saturday but did it all in a rush last night. I have tried just now from the ipad but it didn't want to find the photo. I will try again when I am at the computer. They are really special again this year. Do have any in Holland?

  4. Both tiles are great, but I love your Earth Day tile on the mono-printed paper.

  6. I like both - the exuberance of the Earth day piece and the restraint of the Rixty tile.
I envy your trip to Cornwall; when they invent teleportation I'll go every weekend, until then it's a bit far.
